There is a build up of fluff.Fluff is principally the result of friction when garments are being worn and washed. Machine drying hardly causes any fluff to form and has been established by research institutes to have no appreciable effect on the lifetime of the garment.Fluff is collected by the fluff filters and can be easily removed
The laundry is not sufficiently dry.The load consisted of different fabrics.- Finish drying using "Warm air" (timed drying).
- Select a more suitable drying programme next time
The interior drum lighting does not come on.The lighting switches off automatically (to save energy).Switch the dryer off and then on again.
The lamp needs changing.Change the lamp as described at the end of this section.
The Empty out container indicator lamp comes on.The condensed water container is full or there is kink in the drain hose.- Empty out the condensed water container.
- Check the drain hose.
- Before starting a new programme, first switch the dryer off and then on again.
The programme has been interrupted, the indicator lamp for Hand iron or Machine iron is flashing, and the buzzer sounds.There is no obvious cause.- Switch off the dryer.
- Then switch the dryer back on and start the programme again.
If the programme stops again and an indicator lamp flashes, there is a fault. Contact the Miele Service Department.

The programme stops and 0 appears in the display. The buzzer sounds.This is not a fault.- Use the Warm air programme (timed drying) to dry individual items.
The electronic unit has recognised that there is no laundry in the drum and cancelled the programme.To delete the fault message:
Drying individual garments or items which are already dry can also cause the programme to be cancelled.- Open and close the door.
The Low temperature indicator light starts flashing after the dryer has been switched on and 0-o appears in the display.The electronic system lock is activated.You will need to deactivate the system lock before the dryer can be used
The programme stops and Cooling down or Finish flashes in the display. The buzzer sounds.No obvious cause.- Switch the dryer off and then on again.
- Then start the programme again.
If the programme stops again and Cooling down or Finish flashes again there is a fault. Contact the Miele Service Department.

Laundry or feather filled pillows smell after dryingThe laundry was washed with insufficient detergent
Feathers are a natural product and this is quite nor- mal.
■ Laundry: use sufficient detergent next time.
■ Pillows: take out of the tumble dryer and air them.
■ Use a fragrance flacon (available as an optional accessory) for your favourite fragrance.

■ Connect the tumble dryer to the mains
■ Turn on the tumble dryer
■ Close the door
■ Check whether the mains fuse has tripped
Has there been a power cut? When power is restored any previously running programme will restart automatically.
The display is dark and the Start/Stop button is flashing slowlyThe dryer is in standby mode. This is quite normal and does not indicate a fault.
The drum will turn at intervals in the anti-crease phase.
The dryer is switched off at the end of the programmeThe dryer switched off automatically. This is quite normal and does not indicate a fault.
The interior drum lighting does not come onThe drum lighting will switch off automatically ...
... when the door is closed.
... after a few minutes when the door is open (to save energy).
If the dryer is switched on, the drum lighting will come on when the door is opened.
Insufficient spray to re- moisten the laundryThe filter in the condensed water container is blocked.
■ Clean the filter in the condensed water container (optional accessory)
The spray jet in the door opening is heavily calcified.
■ Replace the spray jet (optional accessory)
■ Only use condensed water. Do not use tap water.

However, if the message does not go out after you have cleaned the filters, then also check all the possible causes described under "The drying process goes on too long or even switches off".
To delete the fault message:
- Open and close the door, or confirm with OK.
You can adjust the setting which controls when or if the message to clean out the airways appears.

Programme cannot be changedAn attempt has been made to alter a programme while it is in progress.- You will need to cancel the current programme before you can select a new one.
The programme does not start and the display is dark.No obvious cause.- Is the dryer switched on?
- Is the door closed properly?
- Has the fuse or circuit breaker tripped?
When the power comes back on after a power cut, confirm with OK and start the programme again.
The dryer switches off automatically after 15 minutes if no further selection is made.Switch the dryer on.
The display is in a different language.Set the language you want. The flag symbol will guide you.
The indicator lamp for the Start button flashes when a programme is being selected.This is not a fault.Once the programme has been started, the Start button stops flashing and lights up constantly.
